# XDF Utils

## Overview

XDF Utils helps automotive enthusiasts and ECU calibrators inspect TunerPro XDF
definitions and work with matching ECU BIN files. It runs as a web application
and needs no account or desktop installation. Open an XDF to inspect its
protection and definitions. Then recover its edit password, download an
unlocked copy, or open the web editor.

## Core utilities

- **XDF password viewer and unlocker:** Reveal the XDF edit protection password
  after valid decryption. Download a separate unlocked XDF. An XDF that needs
  an open password requires the user to supply that password.
- **XDF definition explorer:** Browse tables, scalars, flags, functions, and
  read-only patch views. Search definitions and keep several editor tabs open.
- **Online BIN editor:** View raw and calculated values in a BIN with its
  matching XDF. Edit table cells and scalars in the Standard BIN, then export
  the edited BIN.
- **BIN comparison:** Compare Standard and Compare BIN values. View changed
  cells and direct or percentage differences. View maps in a grid or a
  rotatable 3D display.
- **Table transfer:** Copy the currently open table from the Compare BIN to the
  Standard BIN. Other BIN bytes stay unchanged. XDF value limits apply.
- **Cross-platform access:** Use the web tools in a modern browser on Windows,
  macOS, or Linux. No native Windows tuning application is needed.

## Requirements and limits

- Use a modern web browser with JavaScript enabled.
- Use only files that you own or have permission to inspect.
- XDF files can be up to 8 MiB. Each BIN file can be up to 16 MiB.
- Patch views show the current state. Patch application is not available.
- XDF Utils does not connect to a vehicle or flash an ECU.
- XDF Utils is independent and is not affiliated with TunerPro.
